Sunday morning worship starts at 10:30am Child care provided Sunday School during church
For over 275 years, the First Congregational Church of Chester has been a place where people have come to worship, pray and fellowship with others who share their common beliefs that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior and rely on Scripture to be their guide in their everyday walk.
Whether you are visiting with us because you are looking for a church family or only browsing through our statement of faith and our programs, we would like to welcome you to the First Congregational Church of Chester. We are a fellowship with over 275 years of faith tradition and history, still faithfully proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are a family of God and we like that name for our church. We are interested in people more than program here. We believe that’s what the church of Jesus Christ is all about…worshipping with and caring for each other in the name of Jesus Christ. We are all about allowing the world to know that we are His followers by our love for one another, and by our commitment to Biblical principles and practices.

Celebrating Our 275th Anniversary with Many Events Planned
The First Congregational Church in Chester is about to celebrate their 275th anniversary and are eager to share their history with everyone. There will be many events throughout the year and the “Kick-off” event will take place on September 20th and 21st.
On Saturday, the Sanctuary and buildings will be open to the public for historic tours, led by historian Joan Case. The Greek revival style features four Doric columns and the interior of the church features excellent examples of trompe l’oeil decoration. The beautifully decorated tracker organ, installed in 1873, is in fine condition and is used for services.
